Final furlong taking the longest?

Ordered a new Roomy in mid-September with some custom specifications and was given a 3 month delivery date. Was pleasantly surprised when I was told that my car was at the Skoda compound in Sheerness on 2 November - way ahead of schedule. However, since then the car has failed to appear at the dealership - who seem to have no way of knowing when a car will leave the compound, what transporter it will be on and exactly what day it will turn up. Who would have thought that the last 40 or so miles of my new car's journey from the Czech Republic would be the most difficult!
