  • The crank vent to atmosphere mod? Nothing that I know of. Been running mine for a LONG time with no side effects.

  • Put my pipe straight to atmosphere, saves remembering to empty cans and make brackets etc. looks more subtle under the bonnet too

Did you buy it online josh?

Yes through autosiliconehoses.com chose the flexi pipe rather than straight silicone pipe as its cheaper and easier to route mate

That's what I used mate, in black looks oem :) I have a length in my garage, may be long enough for you! Will check tomorrow the length if it.

Awesome thanks mate!

I've got some 19mm, not fitted it yet though, I'm pretty sure I can persuade it on, it's really flexible stuff :)

You need 3/4" or 19mm bore hose.

Personally I'd just dump it to the ground that's what i do.

19mm is a little tight and might need warmed up as that's what i used.

The problem with basic catch can's is they need some medium inside to be the most effective, expensive ones have baffles but in my other car i have brillo pads which work nearly as well. It also worth pointing out that the vapour will take the easier path out so it will simply go in and go out of the outlet port without dwelling as much ****ting up the mini filter quicker (if you have one), this is why I'd have the output pipe half way down instead of ontop.

I have tried this on my petrol car and you'll see the configuration of more expensive ones are configured this way.

Here's what I did to mine before fitting it (pictured upside down from the bottom of the can)

I managed to whittle down a short length of hose and get it to fit inside the inlet port, the other end of which you can see coming out of the wire wool. The outlet port is on the far side of that wire wool which is propped up by a modified coke can :giggle:

Hi Nick 83,

I know it is a cheek considering you have completed all the work to a high standard. But could you tell where you purchased your Oil Catchment Tank and what the hole size is for a blanking plug. Many thanks in anticipation.

Going to do my elephant mod tomorrow :)

Still struggling to find a suitable pipe for a decent price online :(

Anyone got some links they don't mind sharing?

auto silicone hoses, got mine on ebay.

this might be a daft q but has anyone mentioned this mod to their insurance? has it effected it in any way?

DanHam, can you link me to the one you got?

No worries mate :) going to fit mine tomorrow. 1 metre is enough hose.

Lol. I read somewhere you need just over 1m so I ordered 2 to make sure.
