an 03 what? 02j is the gearbox model for a lot of vag cars (5 speed) eha is the coding for the ratios (the important bit) don't buy an incorrect one or the ratios will be out..

those sites are usless imo, they are agreggators, looking at other breakers stock, the chance of you gettting the wrong part is high. DID they state its from a VRS? ask them the ratio codes, its on the ...it shouldnt be hard to confirm this.

Hi right the online stock people say that the gearbox is the part no. is 02j301107C and the box code is DBZ i presuming this means its the wrong one?

fyi, thought you had a vrs, you need to check the code on the box, or get a mechanic to do so, as the eha is a 5spd box for the vrs, it should certainly work with your car however also being a petrol 1.8t though it might have a different coding again.

dbz is def a petrol gearbox, ratios are very slightly different to the vrs, to be honest am no gearbox specialist, hopefully another member will post, either way the dbz and the eha will work and fit, vrs might be advantageous if your car is mapped.

i cant find out how to upload a picture to the thread and dont want to upload my cars reg and identification anyway, but from that it has EGY2325015 which i think is linked to the gearbox with the vehicle ID no. in the coding next to the section listing engine code / trans code its AGU and then on the other side YP, from the link you sen OeT i think I can install a VRS eha or DBZ because DBZ is in the same list as EGY...? anybody else know much about gearboxes?

eha and dbz have different ratios, dbz is the same as the others in its list, eha is on its own, but if you see the figures are only slight different. Is your car mapped? or going to be?
