Thankyou for all your help today and yesterday. I am only 20 and my funds wont stretch to replaceing the gearbox as I am worried about further problems. two mechanics have looked at the car and htink I might loose the clutch and so on after this is fixed. In that vein I am forced to sell. I am gutted and extremely distraught but my skoda ownership has to come to an end for me to remain mobile for work. I will shortly be placing the car on the forum for sale as spares or repair. If you know anyone that wants a whole car to buy and sell up let me know as I live away from home and dont have the kit to dismantle it.
