Matt paint care

Featured Replies

Does anyone have any info on what polish or similar you use on matt paint???????

think google would be your best bet for that mate. certainly wouldnt touch it with polish.

Surely if you go near it with polish or wax etc it will no longer be matt?

I would have though a wipe down with IPA or similar would be ideal.

i used to have a matt cat, and just used to wash it and dry, never bothered with polish, and it was just fine

nothing to polish on matte paint

Maybe just some decent shampoo with a wax in just to keep the new beading kind of look going.

Matt lacquer? I would expect a matt finish to have no lacquer at all. Lacquer is what you polish to produce shine/reflection. Seems odd to put over matt if the intention is a matt finish, not a lacquered finish?

You do get matte lacquers, but they aren't as "matte" as just a plain matte paint... at least from the ones I've used.
