Clutch

Featured Replies

I have been looking at solid flywheel conversions such as the 04-08 1.9tdi Octavia Valeo Clutch and Solid flywheel kit.

I have a couple of questions - I currently have no issues with my clutch (97,000 miles) but am considering a remap from 105bhp to around 130bhp - I believe it is not unknown for this to increase the wear on the clutch - would anyone recommend this kit for a remapped car or would a different plate be a better idea? Or should I just leave it well alone? Worried about blowing the turbo as well

Anyone?

Unless it's coming off leave it alone until it goes. Then the skf gets good reviews on here for the dealer supplied item.

Don´t worry now, worrry when it actually starts sliping in 5ª.

On my other car at 40k was reprogramed and the clutch gave up 1 week later.

It was Valeo, changed to Sachs and still same one at 170k.

You also have the option of reinforcement of the clutch, we have some places around here that do this

As said leave the clutch alone until it plays up. That remap won't exactly stress it or the turbo. I was once told that anything over 145bhp on these then things would need changing.

So a remap to 130 should cause no issues with normal driving
