Octavia 2 vRS "Nurburgring edition"

Featured Replies

Does anyone know if the above car actually exists? Someone I know is banging on about their "Nurburgring edition" which is (apparently) a model intended for the Continent (although it's RHD) with a better turbo and injectors than the standard vRS. Does such a beast actually exist or are they full of the proverbial?

Never heard of it. Just googled it too. Nothing on it

You'd have heard about one on here if there was one, and everyone would be moaning they never realeased it here !!!

It will be a badge that he has purchased from eBay! Much faster with a sticker on!

has he bought a corsa or astra by mistake?

Or he's been gulible and been ripped off

Oh dear.

Yeah, I thought as much. It's someone from our local group of Facebook/pub VAG enthusiasts...everyone knows the sort; has an opinion on everything, can't take any kind of constructive criticism (if they recommend a company and you can provide a counter-story of bad experience with them, then you will get a ton of Facebook comments/messages slating you, they once pretty much threatened to get Superchips to take me to court because I said all remaps are detectable, some more so than others). So I figured that they were probably lying through their teeth or gullible. I think the latter, because apparently this story has all been confirmed by both the dealer they bought from as well as Skoda UK. Whatever floats their boat, I guess, I'm happy with my very-much-real Fabia Mk1 :)

Is there any chance at all he has one of these on it?

Just the other day I was discussing this with a work colleague who has a 2009 pre-FL hatch back vRS, not to disimilar to my own, (with the exception of the estate part).

I noticed it had a colour coded grill so I asked if she had had it done or did she buy it like that? Her response was that the grill is colour coded because it is a Limited Edition Nurburgring??? Unfortunately, I explained to her that there is no such thing, alas it was a waste of breath...........

It could be a special edition that a dealer has done off there own back but very doubtful if it would have any thing modified with the engine.

On the way home from work on the night in question, we had a little acceleration test, it was literally as if she was going backwards! ;)

Not a chance that car was ever made. There is a guy in my area who worked for skoda at the plant where the octavia was made. The main thing vw made clear was the octavia was not to be as quick or faster than the golf gti. so as for uprated injectors and turbo, this boy must like being ripped off.

Yet the pathetic Seat was allowed to be quicker than the fat ass Golf...

Swap roles with Seat and Skoda would have an awesome car on there hands... apart from awful customer service right enough.

Awesome enough to stop people buying the Golf GTi so why would VW do it? My experience of Skoda customer service is excellent, perhaps you have had an isolated bad experience.
