I dunno, I could name at least 10 places around here that'd guaranteed fail it on beam pattern...

Xenon headlights will fail an mot test if headlamp washers and level sensors (if applicable) are not fitted to the vehicle. Also xenon lights should be fitted with projector headlamps to ensure the correct beam pattern. If not these will most likely have the incorrect image and blind road users. I see so many cars fitted with aftermarket xenons on the road and wonder how they have an mot test certificate... regards, Jason. (volkswagen service technician/ MOT Tester)

you need to run another earth inside the cluster and used the old reflector looms. they clip in.

Easy job and takes 10 mins. no need to spend loads on looms.

thats what i done in mine, and they work fine. I run Aftermarket hids in both dipped and fogs with no problems. kent Phil got his xenons from me so an vouch for this method working on my car.
