Bluetooth phone compatability

Featured Replies

Is there a list somewhere of which phones are compatible with the Citigo bluetooth or will any bluetooth phone work with the PID?

Bluetooth.pdf

There you go. It's the only one I've seen.

Thanks!

My Acer Liquid Metal (Android 2.2) works fine with the PID, the only thing that doesn't seem to work is the SMS to speech function. I think you'll find any bluetooth phone will work.

Neither my nexus 4 android 4.2

Nor galaxy nexus 4.1.2

Is on there

See what happens when the car comes

Mine works fine with the PID in the Citigo, and always connects as soon as I switch on the phone bluetooth.

Can't say it's the same with my other car and it's Bluetooth connection (after market radio) takes ages to pare up, sometimes I give up on it.

Samsung Galaxy.

Samsung Galaxy S3 works when the wind is blowing in the right direction !!

Are you still on 4.0 or has Samsung pulled its finger out

Nope - upgraded 2 weeks ago to Jelly Bean and still same problems. Seems to connect OK but audio sometimes comes through phone and sometimes through PID

Considering the Nexus 4 is only a fortnight old I'm not surprised its not on the list... if it doesn't work with the updated Jelly Bean and the latest nexus hardware I'd be extrememly surprised. I can pair my Nexus 7 but as it's got no phone facility it just sits there paired and not doing much

I haven't tried to configure my phone yet, nobody ever phones me anyway!

Got my NFC tags programmed ready

Touch phone on centre console to turn Bluetooth on

Always get calls when Bluetooth is not on so this should not happen again

Can anyone recommend a particular phone which seems to work really well with the Bluetooth?

Now that mum has got her new Citigo she needs a phone to go with it! The least important option from the spreadsheet would be the audio playback as she has an iPod with BT capability, which leads me to another question - can you have both a phone and an ipod paired with the bluetooth at the same time?

The PID can 'remember' two phones (like most bluetooth units) but I don't think you can stream music from an iPod while talking on the phone (both via Bluetooth).

The MicroSD option works great. I use a 32GB card and it works great for music.

My phone (Nokia C3-01) is not listed but works fine. Mind you the list is over a year old.

This works fine in mine.

BTW it's a Galaxy S plus.......one of the older models now but works a treat and connects pretty quickly with the PID.

I've also got around to putting my music tracks onto a micro card and in the PID. That works well also connected to the radio/PID unit. When you take the unit out and connect back up again it comes back on the track where it left off.

We went and found a phone for mum at the weekend and connected both it and her ipod via Bluetooth and they both stream well.

Can you select tracks from the ipod on the PID though? We found that it would stream the track currently selected on the ipod but you couldn't skip tracks or see a list of tracks from the PID.

This function is available with MP3 music on a CD or via MP3 on the MicroSD in the PID. Use the step buttons above the volume button.

With the MicroSD card in the PID, you can choose to step to the next track in the folder (the music album) or you can set it to choose any of the tracks in any of the folders.

Bluetooth is not just one technology - Bluetooth is a number of technologies that do different things. Both units need to have the technology that is needed for each function. See this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bluetooth_profiles

There are no easy answers :)
