maf sensor again

Featured Replies

hi all, sorry about this question i know its been done to death.

bad fuel consumption, (41) best i can get on a long motor way stretch at 70-80mph. disconnected the maf sensor to see the difference it makes, made no difference to fuel consumption. but it did make a difference to the power. like the turbo wasn't connected, is that the effect it has disconnecting it?

i guess as its made no difference i should replace it anyway?

If you've disconnected the MAF and you've lost power this is a sign of a healthy MAF.

When i disconnected my faulty MAF there was no difference to economy or power.

Fitted new MAF and all was well.

Do you use a oiled type filter? These can damage your MAF.

which filter? I've only had the car a few months so i haven't serviced anything. I'll search for other fuel consumption related problems and give them a go if its not the MAF

air filter obviously, no its just a normal looking thing
