First Service Cost - 1.2 Tsi Dsg Elegance

Picked my car up last night from dealer. They refunded £100 back onto my debit card whilst I was there, so no waiting for a cheque to appear.

Anyone care to recommend a decent Independent Specialist for future servicing in Berkshire?

Many Thanks

3 years free servicing was free when I bought my car lol - jabo you got ripped off :)

Did you look into your financing agreement? ;)

I didn't pay for it either. It cost me what I quoted in interest on the minimum loan I took to get that offer - nothing is ever for free!

Ah sorry - thought you said you paid for it upfront... You pay for it one way or another :)

Guess what just fell through my letterbox? - A survey satisfaction form from Skoda UK. Well, I think I will take some time to complete this and tell them exactly what I think. Not that I expect it to do much good, but with 4 Skodas in the family it amounts to a fair amount of service costs.

Hard to be a happy Skoda driver when the dealers are apparently a law unto themselves when it comes to servicing costs...

Not an issue unique to skoda. I've always found there is a wide variation to service costs between dealers no matter the make

You think Skoda dealers servicing costs are steep, try main BMW dealers :D.

Just because of that I will be flogging it next year :(

You might be suprised by the feedback form, I filled my last one in and got a call from Skoda UK the following day!

You've really got to shop around.

Most dealers will price match.

Even if you know you won't / can't travel to the next nearest dealer, you can still ring them for a quote to use as a negotiation tool on the preferred / closest dealer.

Most have 'within x miles' for the price match to work but I've found they'll still match it if they think you'll go elsewhere.

I've had my Fabia "modified" by a friend to show the large digital MPH clock on the display (changing country from UK to Australia) - will the Skoda dealer pick up on this and revert it back to a UK model so losing this feature? Have I invalidated the warranty? Is there a way to make it look "normal" when I take it in so thyey don't suspect?

No need to change it, it is your car, you only made a selection from the choices Skoda gave when they built and sold you the car.

It is not a modification, it is a selection.
