Civic Type R EP3-Jackson Racing Supercharged

Featured Replies

After enjoying my time with the fabia vrs it was time to move on as the fuel economy was not required any more. After going out in my mates civic type r i was impressed with its immense handling, tried an insurance quote, £200 more expensive then what i was paying on my old vrs! Great, so i went and snapped one up, in Cosmic Grey =]

Current Spec:

JRSC

K100 ECU

Energy insert mounts

Feels Titanium cat back (Was Piper)

Piper Sports Cat

Piper Manifold

Tegiwa Induction Kit

Premier Recaros

Eibach ABP Springs

6000K HID Kit

Eibach Camber Bolts

D2 Camber Arms

FRSU

Pretty good spec for a type r as they come very basic.

Mine has Air con, Fog lights, parking sensors, tinted windows and some additional audio speakers.

I wasnt intending on modding it, but, hit a stroke of luck with the lottery haa!

Tidy win, the amount i won can easily get the car to 240- 250bhp, so the journey begins!

Firstly, handling. I fitted some 30mm ABP Eibach springs, very easy to fit, so much easier than the fabia.

Fitted 4 new hankook v12 tyres, then took a short trip down to R Motion in Usk, to have a fast road set up done. This includes rear camber adjusters and front camber bolts.

Excellent guys down there, very friendly and very good workmanship.

Car handles an absolute dream now!

Now i could concentrate on performance mods, when i first got the car i fitted an uprated panel filter and carried out the Hondata airbox mod.

Ive now bought a Tegiwa Carbon induction kit, quality bit of kit and makes a cracking noise in VTEC :p

Previously i fitted a Spoon N1 exhaust with an unsilenced centre section (b pipe) , it was waaaay too loud, over 100 db's lol. So, went on the hunt for a full Pipe exhaust system. I chose Piper because i was impressed with the quality of the system i had on my Fabia. Plus, they are known to be quite subtle and also have a vast choice of tail pipes.

So, bought a piper mani with sports cat.

Then bartered for ages with some salvage company on ebay for a piper cat back and eventually got him down on price, saved myself 50 quid on the asking price!

Only fitted the cat back for now...

Next i bagged myself some new seats, Premier Edition Recaros.

All i need now is K100/Kpro ecu, undecided on which to go for yet, and a RBC inlet manifold. Then of course the mapping session. Should be good to go then!

Will update more as i go along, progress is going well atm. Love working on the honda, everything has obviously been thought through to make it easy to change parts etc!

There's a bloody gorgeous 300bhp Jackson-charged one near me; 04 plate, facelift model (so subtly "nicer" bodywork than earlier models), same seats as yours...the garage seriously need to sell it, cos I keep hanging my nose over it but I KNOW I can't afford it...any insider tips on getting those elusive 5 or 6 numbers? :D

Wouldn't happen to be red would it? I looked at a red one at parkway in edwinstowe a few months back.

My best Mate had a grey one on a 55 plate and it was a nice thing, plenty of trick bits and went like fook. The single figure mpg when hooning forced him to sell it :)

I'm just in the process of persuading my little bro to sell me his accord type R.

Get it mapped on kpro!

From previous experience thats the one most people go for!

Rbc Manifold is a really nice bit of kit!

Nice car and the best colour!

Gary , tips on getting those numbers are get a missis to chose them, break up and a month later you should win lol. Once you super charge these they go like stink. Kpro helps so much as vtec comes in earlier and carries on past the 8200 limiter to nearly 9k <3 sound is insane haha! R motion currently have a honda NSX they are prepping for a customer, lovely motor! I will go down the kpro/k100 route very soon :)
