Columbus microphones

Featured Replies

Can someone tell me where the mics are on a Superb II please (10 plate)?

Recently the unit will not accept/understand voice-nav commands ... it keeps saying "Pardon" on commands that worked perfectly well before, and people have been saying the quality of voice on phone calls has deteriorated.

Any other ideas?

Thanks

The microphone is above your head in the pod where the interior light/sunroof controls etc. are.

You should see two square areas, one of which will have 6 slits in it. It's behind there.

Thanks! Seems out of the way from dust, etc. so perhaps its nothing to do with the mic.

I've always found the voice recognition to be flaky. It works okay when the car is stationary, but is pretty poor when there's any road noise.

I gave up using it in the end.

Aye Lad meinz is exactly the same but I cannie understand wits up we her, I've checked and Nope she doesn't have Weegie as an language option, so it obviously dusnae understand the Queens Engashhh, or is it because I'm talking with a Scots accent...

Aye Bloody Assasanchs....

lol

I always thought a Weegie was something they used to clean your windscreen when you stopped at the lights!

You haven't changed a bulb up there recently have you. When I unscrewed the unit on my Octavia I screwed it back up nipping the Mic wire, causing it to fail as described. Just a thought.

Well its taken a long long time, but the dealer finally relented and took a serious look at this about 10 days before the warranty was up... had the car for 7 of those days, and finally "admitted" (or at least could find no other explanation) that it was down to a firmware upgrade about 4 weeks before I first posted here.

They tried (I believe) 4 other firmware versions but none fixed it, so eventually they got the OK from Skoda Warranty to replace the whole Columbus unit !

Works fine now ;-)
