Hi guys new to this site as only bought my fabia vrs couple of weeks ago the vrs has been absolutly great until yesterday after work I got in her to drive home and started her up and the red coolant light was illuminated on the dash so got out opened bonnet checked level which was fine and got back in turned engine off and on and light didn't come on !! Then this morning my mrs got in it and rang me tellin me that the light was on again and this time turning off an on would not go out !? But after driving for 5 mins and trying again went out and ga not come back on !! Any ideas. ??

common problem,the sensor in the coolant tank will be knackered. . just need a new tank fitting. . shouldent be expensive.

or I think you could take the sensor out (pins in the tank) and give them a scrub.

Mines the same, not all the time just once in a while. I just turn it off after a couple of miles then it goes off-just like you say. If it did it all the time id do something about it.

Cant take the sensor out but i took the bottle off put a bit of clothes washing powder in and hot water and shook it around to clean it. I then swilled it back out a few times with hot water and re fitted. Hey presto, its been working fine since (touch wood).
