  • Easier from the top with airbox pipe removed No need for a ramp of jacks

  • I doubt you will get to it easier from I under the car. Got mine off from the top. You just need to be flexible and have a good vocabulary. There will be plenty of colourful language!

  • When stripping my car i had the egr valve, egr pipe to manifold and my inlet manifold off in about half an hour its not to hard. Also i have pretty big hand but longs fingers and i think that was the

silicone pipe is sold by the inside diameter.

thats looks pretty cool. but like you said are the any gains. could be a possibility for the future to add some bling.

Since i deleted my egr my car keeps going into limp mode. My egr had to pipes going to it and i just blanked them off was i ment to blank them? Think it must be summit to do with this

You'll have either a vacuum leak or a boost leak...

Time to check and double check all your connections to make sure they're air tight.

Edit: ...

Will give it ago and let you know how i get on. Will blanking the anti shudder cause the limp mode?

I wouldn't imagine so :/.... i wander if uv pulled or dislonged one of the othe vacuum hoses that go to the turbo without realising it? This would cause it to go into limp mode...

well i've blanked both of the pipes by screwing two bolts into the pipes. mine is fine so it must be something else you may have pulled off accidentely ???

and matt - since you haven't blanked the one off for the anti shudder do you still get the shudder or is there not difference? cos leaving a pipe unsealed is surely something you dont want thinks getting sucked up into ???

Edited by Ryy.P

i have been led to believe that both pipes should be blanked and to not let any of the pipes from the vacuum box open to ourside air.

my thoughts exactly joe

I take it all back lol ;)... ^^^

Iv still got my anti shudder connected coz iv not fit my propper egr delete yet... blocked off the egr one tho ( + blocked off the egr so it doesnt work)... not fitting the propper delete till iv got all my fmic pipework.. :)

God knows what to do some pll are saying leave it open some are saying seal it of wen it does go into limp mode it doesn't put a light on and is fine again after a quick restart of the engine

Sounds like a split in one of the turbo vacuum pipes?? Or one has been pulled off??..

Does ot only do it when hot?

Yep doesn't do it when its cold.

all in all my review of the egr is a good thing, so much smoother in the lower revs AND less smoke! i am remapped de-catted fmic etc ;) hardly any now under booting which im impressed with!

Right i suspect u may have caused a small split in 1 of the turbo vac pipes while u had ur hands down the back of the engine... when hot + on full boost the pipe will expand... this will make the tiny split into a leak + will stop u boosting (hense limp mode)... have a good look at all the pipes coming out of the vacuum box + especially the one that goes down the back of the engine on the intake pipe to the turbo... hope this helps.. :)

Thats sound advice thank you very much for your help. Iv installed a boost gauge to do you recon it would be worth checking that pipe for a leak to may have split it when it went through bulk head
