  • I doubt you will get to it easier from I under the car. Got mine off from the top. You just need to be flexible and have a good vocabulary. There will be plenty of colourful language!

how bad is your shudder?

not as bad as if you've stalled it if you get me but just a little bit if this makes sense? :/

im glad its not the bad. i stalled mine once before nearly had a heart attack it was epic, few fillings fell out to.

ohhh, when you did the pipe coming up from the intercooler to the egr did you get a aftermarket silicone pipe or has your standard stuff been okay? had to get a hose for mine :/ its temp gunna buy a 90 degree off ebay now lol

Surelly shudder cannot be healthy for a DMF - assume this is due to the anti-stall not working correctly causing rapid acceleration and deceleration of the engine over a small rev range. Has anyone who has persivered with the shudder had any flywheel problems.

From what I understand the EGR can be mapped out to some extent using VCDS.

got single mass fly wheel conversion so no problems there mate :p and my egr was mapped out i think cos no engine management light yet :)

be your engine mounts not your dmf surely

lol its not that dramatic honestly.

The only reason you get shudder is because the Anti-shudder valve is removed when you do an EGR delete pipe (or 'race pipe' as they're more commonly referred to). So when you switch off, it doesn't directly cut off the air so effectively stalls.

The VCDS mod is an electronic EGR delete (of sorts as it limits the amount it can open, but cannot completelly close it), and is not just a light switch off in the software. Not sure how this would work on both the VRS engine as I understand that one has a blanking gasket with a hole to overcome the anti-stall.

Have already started another grouo buy for those that need em :D

BLT engines are now included too apperently ;)

Awesome :) god knows when im gonna get mine put on, reckon a normal garage would be able to do it?

wouldn't even ask a garage do it yourself, it isn't hard at all. garage will probs charge you 50 quid + in labour

you used your original piping for the 90 degree to fit over the delete pipe itself? mine wouldn't fit! so had to do a temp fix until the 90 degree hose arrives for ebay :p

I cant get to any of the allen key bolts, ive never done something like it before so it was a lot more dofficult with no experience, i just gave up haha

i guess without the proper tools and experience it probably is hard. just make sure they dont rip you off cos it really isn't difficult to do! :)

Getting mine sorted when i get the fmic fitted :)

i'd suggest buying a 90 degree hose :) 60mm

57mm you will want.
