IC Waterspay for

Featured Replies

think i'll be purchasing one of these and a few other things for trial purposes :D

I'd be most interested in your results - it's not a modification imho as you're merely adding an accessory to the car, as opposed to changing the car itself.

Only concern I've got left is the use of water/spray. Perhaps it can be linked up to the 'low fluid' warning when you're out of washer fluid, dunno. I'd definitely be cautious about that side of things.

I'm still considering the fan-based idea. Apparently the airflow would be reduced by 3-5% at 'top speeds' whereas at lower speeds it would make a BIG difference having an electric fan blasting air over the intercooler.

Catch with fans is however that they use a LOT of current so you may need to use the small relay on the board to drive one which can handle the current properly. It should be fine for the pump though I reckon, although worth checking as you don't want fire in the engine compartment ;)

I'm guessing that bengie may end up posting some pics on this in the near future then ;) ;)

As for finding something to auto-drive this ;)

Here is something I spotted: http://www.electronic-kits-and-projects.com/1048.htm

It's adjustable to the kind of temperature thresholds you'd want' date=' which is good.

Only catch would be that you would want to probably link in an extra feed to make sure you have water in your bottle, as otherwise you'd just be emptying it further.

Price seems decent enough as well, and I'm thinking it could be put inside a small box that can be waterproofed easily.

You can purchase it pre-built. That said, it still requires you to connect up the power to it.

Also, you'd probably want to extend the wires to the probe it uses so you can attach it somewhere :D[/quote']

Sounds interesting.......

I dont mind doing it manualy as it keeps things simple ;) , day to day conditions { i.e the wife driving} it's not really needed , if i know im going to give it a blast it's no problem to give the IC a squirt by hand..........same goes for trackdays.
