anyone ever had an astra gsi turbo?

Featured Replies

Been looking at these and they seem pretty good for the money.

Anyone ever had any experience of them? Mpg and performance?

Cheers :D

My wife ran one of these before getting her Octavia, if I recall we used to get around 32mpg mind you we did mainly a road, motorway runs in it. The ride is rock hard and once you've got the seats set up fairly comfortable, but the recaros always felt slightly to big for the car. We had it for six years and it did not cost much more than servicing costs although Vauxhall dealer service seems to be either very good or poor. One thing to watch is the hatch, the huge spoiler makes it very heavy and the struts aren't very strong.

Performance wise once your wind the turbo up they go.

Its a chav mobile!

My local drug dealer has one in that chav blue with 5" exhaust

Never owned one but i've driven a couple and mate has just bought his second one,

As said above they are quiet a hard ride but i do like them altho i am quiet a vauxhall fan (had 3 corsas a few years back inc a sport)

I don't think there bad standard but there is plenty of mods about for them altho the engines can be the weak point as my mates gsi cracked it cylinder head altho he melted a piston aswell but think it was more down to a bad map than car itself

I like them; bit of a guilty pleasure . There is a few mental young guns up here have the z20let engines in corsa's

To be honest they r one of the better vauxhalls handle well go pretty well too

Suffer with headgasket(typical vaux) and turbos most people replace with vxr one

Gearboxes can be abit notchy also

I've not personally had a Vauxhall since the proper Vauxhall days of the Gte 16v but a lot of my friends have had them

When I was a forge dealer I used to sell a fait few actuators and valves
