Oh i forgot about that, i did get a free gallon of that as a parting gift when my mate got fired from halfrauds, hmmm i wonder why lol xD

I only use Quantum Platinum 5W40 from TPS, fully synthetic and recommended by VW for the 1.8T engine. If you have a TPS who will sell to retail customers then it's only £14.99 + VAT for 5 litres.

Oh hello Dave. I didn't realise it was you ha ha. You should check out eurocarparts for oil, they normally have some deal going on service parts which takes 30% off the prices. My last four litres of Edge only cost me about £24.00 delivered.

So this edge stuff seems the fav then ?

5w40 then is it

I'm going to try edge 0w-30 at the weekend. found it in tesco for €6.50 per litre so couldn't not buy it! :giggle:

what exactly are the downsides to running the thinner at cold oils?

surely it's only a good thing and gets the oil everywhere sooner than a thicker oil no? it meets the VW spec. Am I missing something?
