  • Hang on, I haven't had an Octavia or a Superb yet! I'm going to drive it around to keep the milage down on the Yeti and see how good these mkII Fabia VRS's are. I plan NOT to modify!

  • Are you trying to collect every Skoda model? What are your plans for this one?

What are your plans for this one? :giggle:

Better send me your address then! :D

As much as I enjoyed driving Dave's mk2 on the Prague trip.... I was glad to get back into my mk1.

Something about it didn't really excite me. It was fast and fun...but I couldn't quite put my finger on what it was missing.

Let's see what you make of it :)

I know already from driving this 40 miles, it too easy to drive, smooth and refined. In short, it's technically better in nearly every way, but the performance is too accessible and easy to achieve. Plus the performance is very linear in it's delivery. There's no "waheey, here we go!" like you get in the mkI when you hit the torque band. So it is quick but doesn't really feel it, where the mkI felt much quicker than it really was.

I like the word 'yet' in your above post. I can just picture the BossFox fleet now, all lined up outside Jabbasport waiting to have 'a few' bits done to them!! :D

I plan NOT to over modify!

Fixed that for you :D

Very nice. Starting to wish I'd gone blue for my estate now

Blue Estates rule...

That's true. We should all remember you don't just modify Skoda's. ;)

Ditto. I was originally going to get the estate but they wouldnt let me have it with a black roof. The estate is definitely better looking, and i think it would have been hilarious to have a 250hp+ 1.4 Fabia estate.

Was my reasoning. Got white with black wheels because it looked good at the time. Sure it still looks smart when clean but I'm getting a bit bored of it now

The DVLA must hate you with all these cars coming and going! Love it though. I think the blue looks best with the silver lights etc. Doesn't seem right with the "black pack"

and...

Green's where the partys at.... :p

That was why I looked around for one about a year or so old.

Preston Motors did offer me a good price on a whiteVRS estate, which having seen Martyns I know looks nice.

But I wanted the blue and I didn't want the black pack on it. Then this popped up on the bay of E. :D

Mines blue with a white roof. Love the blue but wish I had a black roof. I want black wheels but don't think they will go with a white roof.

Looks good BossFox. Waiting to see how long before the first mod (lowered, rarb or re map) :) I hope you enjoy it.

As to the driving experience, my personal feeling is that the DSG spoils the moment. Driven in manual mode (paddles/tiptronic) and the drive becomes a lot more involving. Leave it in D or S and it just gets on with the job. That has always been my experience of the vRS.

Anyone know the biggest brakes that fit behind the stock alloys with no spacers?

Congrats on the new purchase.

the R32 brakes fit ;)

I've asked to have this moved to the Fabia project section so I can keep an eye on a few little changes I want to make.

Tailgate load sill protector, set of mats, the usual bits and bobs.... maybe. :D

Really happy with the car.

Bought it yesterday on ebay via a best offer (or 3, there was a bit of negotiation) and collected it today.

19,000 miles on the clock, which is about right for 20 months old and 2nd service done last week.

So nicely run in already.

Looks stunning Richard, always loved this colour. You say its not going to be modded but post the first pics in the project section :-D

Will you be coming to prept?

I didn't plan to modify, but I'd like to make a few small changes here and there over a bit of time.

So the plan lasted about eight hours. It was posted in the Fabia mkII section, but I thought it's easier for me to find and update.

Mind you, it' not going to be anything too crazy as it's my daily drive.

No can do on Prept unfortunately, I'm a bit snowed under with work and home commitments right now.
