Little power loss and mpg down a little police siren louder

Featured Replies

I'm not sure wether I've gotton used to the pull or what but to me my car feels like its lost a little power and the mpg has gotton a little worse on top I've noticed the police siren has gotton louder I think..

Anyone had/having these problems just doesn't feel the same I'm assuming it's because of the siren turbo wearing but may be other common problems??

Have you checked for a boost leak? One of your pipes might be loose or has a hole somewhere causing a drop in boost pressure.

depends really, i have a little test near my end where you see how fast you can get to it. bridge test they call it lol -.- the worsening of mpg is probs cos of the weathers. you may just be used to the car, when i first got mine i was like holy 5h1t this thing is rapid! but now im like, my cars slow -.- until my mates get in and say wtf are you on lol..

I do feel a slight loss on power in the cooler weather myself!

Yeah could be the weather..

One of my pipes has already blew off and I had to drive about 3 mile home bellowing black smoke thought it was turbo but was a boost pipe so connected it back and cable tied both ends and joined the cable ties together aswell to stop this happening again.

It might also be that it spins in first 3 gears when it wet aswell but just doesn't seem the same since boost pipe came off ..

I know with subarus it didn't effect much but could the siren of the turbo cause mpg loss as I'm assuming with it weakening Itl cause power loss

Should go better in the cooler weather?

well when a cars cold it uses more fuel cos its not at operating temperature, gunna take a bit longer to get to operating temp?

and yes it should go better in colder whether, just make the mpg worse lol :D

Power should be more consistant in the cold weather but mpg does drop.

I think your just i bit paranoid with the noise etc though i was the same.

cold weather = dense air. Dense air = More fuel. More fuel = usually a bit quicker
