Opinions on Service History Please?

Featured Replies

Gentlemen,

may i have your opinions on this ex lease edition 100`s service history and any problems you see with such a car considering its history and the fact that it was ex lease...

i have edited out names etc

still on the hunt!

Looks ok appears to be lack of 40 & 50k service? That also depends if car was on variable service so let it slide?

Cambelts been done. Only thing that struck me was the headlamps converting to UK? along with adjust on way bit and reset on another. Where did the vehicle originate from?

But if the car is nice and no signs of water ingress and a fair price I would consider it seriously.

Cheers Bodie,

im in ROI, and its a uk Import.

i dont know what the converting headlights to uk is about, can you shed any light?

Ok , its just a LHD to RHD focus conversion i presume....

we drive on the same side of the road?

Unless it was a UK registered car but spent most of its life abroad?

If it was me I would be wanting a looksie at logbook and checking country of registration

OTOH 30kmile service states "fixed", and 30kmiles between services is pushing it even on variable.

Cheers Ken, well spotted!

Car go somewhere different for two of the services? Seems strange that as full as the service history is that they would miss two out? Does service book list anything else?

+1

Service book or request an explanation as for what's missing - if it is.

Gaz

How long was it with the leasing company? Is it in Ireland at the moment? Mines ex UK lease too but came in with low mileage.

It is almost impossible to find an Irish Elegance spec 130.

the conversion of headlights to UK spec is 5 weeks and 4000 miles after the headlights were converted to unspecified spec - looks like they went touring the continent for a holiday?

What's the reg of the car? Not sure what "Details transferred from HV06NKP" means - is that when it moved to Ireland and was re-registered?

In 2011 it had a new OS headlight followed by OSF bumper trim - indication of accident damage?

cheers

That's plausible, particularly if the car has HIDs.

That's certainly a current UK plate format.

If it didn't need panels, I'd think more likely a flying rock, or a parking knock.

God damn water ingress........

The lovely sales guy decided to wet vac the carpets just before I got there,!! (great help), engine also was warm.

Stuck my hand under the vent cowl under passenger side seat and sure enough, a drop of water on each finger,( a bit of blood on the hand also, that vent cowl is sharp!)

Big question

DOES THIS MEAN THAT THIS CAR IS A NO GO?

do you check around the pollen filter for water and mush?

if the interior has been wet vac'd any water inside could be the result of condensation given the time of year. The car will take days if not weeks to dry out now from the wet vac.

yeah, checked around pollen filter, there was some water under neath it, some water in base of battery also...

see pics

Sorry cant uplasd pics

There was water in the bottom of the pollen filter housing, at the bottom of the battery, and in the groves under the passender seat.

all electrics seem to work fine at the min, but iam am worried about the future and possible corrosion of the wires.
