Problem with front wipers help please

Featured Replies

Hi I have a 2006 Fabia Vrs. I've just finished work defrosted my car and went for front window window wipers and got nothing. Check fuse number 41 and it looks fine. I played with the stalk for a few minutes and got it to do one whip then nothing. Anyone else had this problem or have any ideas of what it could be

Cheers

Try a new fuse - they often look OK but have a small crack or poor connection. Otherwise broken wire; unlikely to be motor itself if nothing works on any setting (Hope fuse - cheapest)

If its not the fuse it could be a seized wiper mechanism . Mine seized last summer and was fixed by stripping and re greasing. This is a common problem.

You have checked BOTH fuses?

People seem to see a frozen screen and think "hmm, maybe my wipers will push this solid ice off the screen!"

Then brake the wiper motor because the wipers are frozen solid.

First time we get a cold snap my go every year. I clear the screen first, then flick them on to clear the dusty bits and then they stop lol. Happened this morning.

I killed a motor years ago with ice on the windcreen.
