EGR Leaking?

Featured Replies

I have a fair bit of oil residue from the tiny hole from the EGR, the little hole facing the engine.

Would this mean my EGR is shot?

If so, I am thinking this could be my idle issue!

I'm sure there was a thread about this last week mate. IIRC it's a normal thing to have some oil residue there :)

This isn't a normal amount, I could open a refinery :D

It's oil going through the breather system, fitting an oil catch tank is the best option to keep the EGR + intake clean.

Mine also weeps oil from the hole on the EGR, and it's a faily new unit. I just wipe it away when I'm under the bonnet the car runs fine atm and the leak seems fairly common amongst others.

Shed loads of EGR threads knocking about.
