Headlight back covers not fitting/fmic pipework

Featured Replies

Due to the FMIC piping the rear back covers don't fit, this wasn't really a big issue over summer, but now they seem to be heavily steamed up internally with water build up.

Should I just tape them up best I can or does anybody else have good alternatives

many thankspost-85085-0-81627800-1354658687_thumb.jpg

Could you not adjust the headlights forward slightly. If you undo the top screws there's quite a bit of movement. Might just be enough to get them on.

Wouldn't recommend moving headlight angles, that could either blind oncoming traffic or stare downwards in extreme.

Any chance of grinding away plastic material from the rear of the headlight covers?

Can you slightly alter the angle of the pipes offending the rear covers.?

What pipework is it? 57mm o/d? Custom or a kit?

I've just fitted some custom pipework for my FMIC and managed to just about get my 57mm pipework in with the covers still on the back. Might mean you just need to spend some time fiddling with the angles - Its a bit of a pain getting down that gap and lining up right for the IC.

Is there no way you can make the pipework sit further back in the first place?

I had a similar problem when my standard boost pipe was bodged together and was too far forward.

It constantly caught on the headlight

Didn't mean to angle them, to move the whole headlight forwards, might only need a mm or 2. The 2 screws on the top allow quite a bit of movement, and as for the bolt at the bottom in the grill area a couple of washers could be used to space that out.

I doubt you'd notice the headlights pertruding such a small amount either.

Thanks for a replies peeps

Its custom pipework

I''ll try removing the top screws to provide more movement and space, also if possible move the piping back slightly

thanks!
