I bet that is a bit scary on tonights wet roads

i had a little go on an unused road in new brighton to test what you said. brought a smile, but don't think I have any genuine practical use for it! :giggle:

Launch Control what launch control?

If its like the dsg scirocco I test drove its something like put foot on brake, disengage traction and plant the gas it should take it to a certain rev range. Then just release the brake.

I think you have to do something with oneof the paddles to, can't remember it was a while ago. This was a 1.4 too so may be different with the 2.0

I think it only applies to DSG; anyway this is what you do: turn off traction control, put into sport mode, foot on brake, foot on accelerator. If launch control is enabled the need will hover around 2000 rpm, if its not the car will try and creep forward.Lift foot off the brake and the car shoots off. However this is unlikely to be good for the DSG/ clutch. I just wanted to see it for myself - I'm unlikely to use it again!

How did it work? Was traction controlled well enough as it doesnt seem to take much to cause the wheels to spin up when its damp. I wont use launch control myself for fear of long term damage but im curious as to how good it is.

Jockdooshbag, it did spin quite a bit as it was wet, but it certaintly wanted to shift. I can imagine on a dry surface it would be quite effective. I just wanted to see what it was all about, I don't think I will use it again for the same reason.

Car has come back from Pearce Panel in New Brighon.

I have to say Alex has done an amazing job, you can never tell there was any damage caused the paint match and finish is superb, really pleased.

Qouted £90 + vat, but he knocked some money off for cash.

Overall very impressed and well recommended.
