Felly Relay!

Featured Replies

Hi Guys, I've got a re-emergence of a relay related problem. It's linked to the grey cased relay numbered 18 on the top & a while back Rainbowfire kindly sent me over a spare which at the time did the trick. However it's again started the intermittent chuntering noise and the direct effect of that is the interior fan dropping in & out & what's more of a pain the main beam doing much the same. I picked up a relay from a local VW/Audi breaker/spare parts place today but no real difference. The thing that seems to activate the problem is when coming off the throttle & when changing through the gears, i.e a drop in rpm.

A couple of weeks back one of my main bulbs blew and to keep them balanced I changed both for a spare set my lad had - somewhat more yellow with a blue/purple tinge. That's the only thing that's changed but can't imagine that's prompted the problem?

Any advice/pointers would be gratefully received, cheers,

Rob

Have you checked the starter solenoid signal wire is secure? I know that I had a problem which seemed unrelated which was that was loose, it performs some important functions, and could be affected when the engine moves when you come off the throttle.

Ah good point djaychela, I haven't looked at that. I did have problem relating to that before so there could be a connectivity issue? Cheers.

Hi, suspect there may be something in that, but tbh I wouldn't have made that link!

God bless Brisky and all that post on her

No worries. I had it happen when I'd finished Rallye Sunseeker in the car, and got to the ceremonial finish with loads of people there and it wouldn't start; on the way to there the lights had been playing up and so on - then I put two and two together and hey presto!

Glad it got it sorted - nice when it's simple rather than a rat's nest of wiring!

Cheers mate. Very relieved to be able to resolve so simply ;)
