Cam follower

Featured Replies

Hi guys been reading up on this cam follower ive got a 06 octavia vrs tfsi with 73k on clock, what kind mileage is it worth changing these and what is likely cost of vag independent garage doing work

Cheers mark

It's worth changing it for peace of mind. It depends if the car is modified and / or if it's been driven hard. A mapped car would suggest so. Takes around an hour to do if you're handy with a spanner or if not just ask any dealership or independant to do it for you.

Anywhere to buy one?? i might do mine.

Hi new to site.I am told my 2006 Skoda Octavia 1.6 Fsi needs a new HPFP cam follower. Dealer says I need to replace the pump as well. Is the pump and cam follower "dealer only parts" as it seems to differ from the 2.0 etc ? I have read a lot about his prolem and am now paranoid it will fail and wreck the engine. Thanks Rob.
