Mk1 57 Plate Classic

Featured Replies

Has anyone got any knowledge of how you can get a Mk1 57 Plate Octavia Classic? I assumed the Mk2 took over at 06 onwards?...

possibly one which didnt sell and was in stock someware for ages.

Think of the escort and focus. The crossover was about 2 years

They carried on making the MK1 in classic spec well into the MK2 production. Get some weird and wonderful specs. Climatronic and wind up windows kinda thing.

Production of the MkI overlapped the MkII to cater for the taxi/private hire market, at least here in the UK

Also had a 54 plate Mk2 classic.

SA08 VPR

Mine?

Is it still silver, and does it still have a dent in the rear door and bonnet? lol

Didnt pay much atention to dent but yep still silver.

Mint, pleased its still going strong.

It was a good work horse, I just got bored of how basic it was.

Didn't have air con or even a cup holder :-0

Haha. What engine was in it?

1.9 Tdi, with a massive 100 bhp!

Haha no wonder the driver offered a swop for my blackline. Haha

We're they all taxis?

We're they all taxis?

I think that you could still buy them as a private buyer, however all of the Mk1's that I've seen have al been used as taxi's. I think that their main appeal as such is that for a similar price as a private buyer you could get the more refined Mk2, but (and according to our fleet garage) the Mk1 were more basic mechanically and cheaper to fix as well as being a bit more reliable - probably ideal for a workhorse such as a taxi when your whole livelihood depends on your vehicle choice. All of the taxi's that I've seen have been with the "SA" prefix on the registration as well.
