Thats actually not a bad price for that like, but you are right it doesnt include headlights.

I wonder if it would all work though, like DRL's etc

I'm sure a couple of guys here have done this modification already. The FL on that link you sent did look smart!

I'm no expert with the coding etc, but I'm sure anything is possible.

You can buy the whole front off SuperSkoda.com

Hmm just looked closer, maybe you can buy the lights too, or look for a rear end write off?!

That's for FL cars, not for updating a pre-FL. To facelift an early car I think you'd need the bonnet, wings, bumper, grille and lights.

Hi Julie, yeah I did see that, I was just sharing the link on where John could pick up some of the bits from! Although they might even be able to source everything for you, considering they seem to have plenty of OEM parts on there...If you had a word?

Is it me, or is the airbag a different shade to the steering wheel?

Maybe a front end smash and the opportunity was taken to upgrade the front end?

Yeah, that would be my worry

Wouldn't the passenger airbag have popped too?

Could have been turned off.

Steering wheel looks fine to me, just got a lot of miles and developed a shine due to the oils in our skin. Easily rectified with a decent leather cleaner.

To facelift an early car, you'll need.

2 x Wings

1 x Bonnet

1 x Grill

1 x Bumper

1 x set of DRL lights

1 x set of foglights

1 x set of headlights

Associated wiring for DRL's.

it should all bolt on and be easy to swap.

As above

Hope the link works

If it has, what is involved exactly in doing this front end conversion?

well it isnt a vrs- unless someone has grafted in standard seats and a non- vrs spoiler.

I'd say its a lower spec model that has had a front end smash and the FL vrs bits grafted on, and vrs wheels

According to the description it is a Sport

Not so much the rim of the wheel, but the plastic immediately adjacent to the airbag.

I agree with andyvee. That steering wheel doesn't look right somehow and looks like its had a new airbag.

Looks like a mish-mash of a car...

And it has had a minor front end impact with the new bodywork on.

No nearside headlamp washer cover and large scuff / impact mark on bumper on N/S

I agree, that steering wheel isn't right.

Wouldn't touch it with a very long pole.

I wouldnt have gone to the expense to do all that unless the originals needed to be changed then swapping to newer parts I can see logic. Says HPI clear twice in ad perhaps it was just not recorded 3rd party insurance or not worth loosing the persons no claims for whatever reason so they did this. With a good inspection of the car even if its been in an accident as long as its been repaired properly it wouldn't put me off, additionally if not having a Cat D marker against it even better. I would try to hammer more off it though :D

If it has had a new drivers airbag then I don't reckon it was replaced due it deploying.

I know the passenger side bag can be turned off but realistically the odds are it wasn't, therefore the dash will also have been replaced.

The missing headlight washer cap and bumper scuff could have been there before the FL components were fitted.

It's a shame they didn't go the extra mile and swap to the new rear light clusters, badging and stuck on a vRS spoiler, externally you'd have taken at least 4 years off the age of the car (visually).

Didn't Stamsaas do a full front end conversion on his to FL?

I don't even think its a sport. Did the sport have a 3 spoke wheel slightly sportier seats ?? or am I gone off on a tangent!!!

Its a Sport, the Sport was basically an Ambiente spec model with some body kit added to make it looks almost like a vRS. So featured an entry level interior, hence all the silver trim, standard seats etc.

The passenger airbag will not deploy if nobody is sitting in that seat when the drivers side deploys.

It will.

There is no sensor on the passenger seat on the octy ii.

On anything with a sensor you are correct though.

Dainott reckoned the bonnet on a mk 2 and a FL are identical apart from grilles .as he was in two mind as ti weather which front to gets it was the hybrid model ie facelift interior and mirrors and needed a new front( ex police and accident damaged
