No he's no vag expert so to speak, but he a car expert.... Currently rebuilding a mk1 escort Mexico, seen him rebuild a a vw beetle from the chassis up so knows his onions.... Not sure if that's good enough (would understand if not!)

As you are in Bristol Lloyd, have you tried the Vee W Service centre? I sometimes get parts from there, and the mechanics seem friendly enough (once you can get pass the bloke on workshop reception who claimed that my alternator on his counter made it dirty.....)

for this reason, i say you should keep ya chin up and fix it. Will always be Lloyds vrs and it truely is a 1 off. I know your gutted mate but i have done this very thing far to many times with cars and sold them coz they p1553d me off and regretted it after. Its up to you what you do mate, but they "realistic money" you would not get for your car, (unless you find someone with more money than sense!) i think it would be a waste. R32 is a nice car.. but theres lots of nice r32s in the world. very few of what you have exist.

just my 50p mate. :)

lol i was just going with clives guess of 5 lol

£6k and he wouldnt be in my garage me thinks lmao

Most likely i will throw all my toys out my pram

Along with my money down the ****ter

And the ****** thing will stay :D

cos he is a ****.... There go he fits in well with his owner ;)

5 really? these motors aint worth nish bud which is why they all get broken. mods count for nothing, your mileage is the only thing that makes yours stand out (on paper i mean) and low miles dont account for that much more on the price of a car nowdays either.

Im only saying this to help you through it as i know your car means alot to you and it brings you down when its broke. dont make any silly decisions you will regret. its broke now so its worth even less, so your going to have to fix it to sell it for decent money anyway.

its a shame that so many nice ones get broken, ffs please dont make yours another stat mate! up that chin of yours! :)

If all else fails theres petrol and a lighter :D

lol not sure you really mean that..you love the car! I would have changed the tie rod ends too lloyd as suggested before, its worth ruling out all the suspect parts, that affect the steering setup, sub frame bushes would be next, its sometimes a case of process of elimination...its only a machine afterall, they don't run well without maintenance sadly:

Yeah i remembered u said about that mate :(

Once he started swapping them

Im gna find out full rod set up prices tomoro

Fook it :(

That would leave what next ?

Bushes ? Top mounts ?

Droplinks ?

When i was turning steering jacked up.... The rack made squishie noises lol

Is that ok ?

He only used about half litre fluid too ? But level is ok ?

Confuddled

That could just be an air lock in the system, have you checked the fluid level make sure it's okay? Might have dropped since he done it

I popped a lil more in this morning... so that should work thru

i'll try to get a clip ofd the endless fudged sounds.... but with the engine running the phone dont hear

new tie rod assemblys will rule out rack to hubs wont it ?

did you actually replace the tie rods mate? its were all our thoughts have been, they are very cheap and would help eliminate them from our inquiries

haha, we thought the same things, yes, tie rods should have been changed first mate, rods and rod ends, £20-£30 for all of that. Eliminate it mate

You went to gloucester tho wont it for the rack?

It wouldnt take long to work fluid thru mate.

So long as he worked it in first then started it. There would of been plenty in there. Then once settled top up.

Tbh mate if you going along the elimination route it could be anythung that moves when steering which is a long list of things.

Do you need him over christmas?

  • Author

I could do with it this week but i really dont like the sounds so he wont be used :@

I didnt remember the rod ideas until i got home :wall:

He has dropped me rite in the poo this week

Let this be known lloydy, if you decide to punt the low miler - I will disown you and hit ignore :wonder: :giggle:
