That could just be an air lock in the system, have you checked the fluid level make sure it's okay? Might have dropped since he done it

rack needs to be bled, there is a sequence, cap off, need to rotate full lock to full lock several times to get out air bubbles, worth checking/redoing this too. Was it done btw?

get it to me i will sort it buddy dont worry

any bits you want doing throw in the boot and we shall fit let me know a weekend good for you and i will keep the diary clear and get dave over etc etc and go from there

these cars are very simple just can be a pain when it comes to knocks and creeks as it can be something else you wouldnt think of

i have loads of spares we can put on to test each component so shouldnt be to hard ;-)

but you will be getting your hands dirty lol as its a lesson

Go camber shims Yeah!

Hehe ;)

I think i need new bearing/hubs as he said it was gna split the bearing pulling it off :(

German gaf ones are like £70 each

But i'll try put 2 in the boot by my shims :D

i shimed my bora with new barings, but pulled the skoda ones apart as loads of the dub boys said it can be done. both mine are fine and i ran them for months now at 150mph+ (bossfox will tell ya :p )

you dont need new barings Lloyd.

ive had toprans bearings in mine for 70k miles and still fine mate, theyre £15 and should last you 38 years

  • Author

I must admit he had a make do puller thing, as he tried getting it off it was splitting he said ?

I though i could always take them back if dnt need them

scroll down to post 203 mate. the baring will come apart if pulled correctly. you can see from the 6th pic down how it come off. you then undo the bolts and fit the shim underneath. really is a easy job mate :) just take ya time with a decent puller, ad a little more grease if need be to the baring and your good to go!

:)

aye the inner race will remain on the shaft, but the bearings remain seated, there is no reason why there would be a problem, just keep grit out of it

  • Author

So aslong as we haveva decent puller i shouldnt need bearings :)

Maybe i should sumon Gee to cnt base when he saves my car

Gee the camberman ;)

All need then is a big BBQ Brisk stlye lol
