stereo problem

Featured Replies

can any one help me i have fitted an after market 7 inch cd player in my car but it only turns on with the headlights switched on i checked the fuses and found it had blown so i replaced it and found it was leaving all the dash lights on and the numberplate lights on

You've wired it up wrong.

I'd suggest getting someone experienced to fit it for you

It sounds like it wired up wrong where it plugs into car loom,

Try unplugging it and see if car lights work as they should first

Can't wire it up wrong as its all plugs and the headlights work fine without the stereo in and with the stereo in

Sounds like the stereo loom isn't standard. Suggest you check out the ISO standard which Skoda use and compare that to the pinout of the stereo.

Either that or someone has butcher the loom already as there should not be a headlight feed to the HU. You would expect to have:

ground

+12v perm

+12v igni

+ instrument dimmer feed

Plus the normal speaker connections (in a separate block)
