I've just bought a sport cat/downpipe off ebay...impulse buy.

well, i didnt read the description and after having won and paid for it realized it states it wont fit the rs.

Any ideas why?

I think octavias have a 2.25" bore exhaust where as this is 2.5". you may need to purchase a reducer to make it fit. I imagine that's the only reason why it wouldn't fit as far as I can see.

Its not a decat, its a 200cpi sports cat.

Forgive me if I am wrong, but I know the vRS has two Lambda probes in the downpipe. I am not sure of the other models listed, but if they have only one then you'll need to spend some money having the downpipe modified to accommodate the second probe.

I saw that one myself before and saw it said not for vrs but let us know how u get on buddy if it all fits then I will invest in one

Carn't see any reason why it won't fit as its advertised for mk4 golf and there same, it has a hole before and after cat for probes and looks like it comes with a reducer to fit standard system,

I bid on one a while back but ended up with another one

Folks it will fit the VRS no problem. Same engine same chassis and same hook up points. These exhaust come with reducers to help fit to centre section which is needed for VW Golf anyway

I have bought many a decat pipe for VW golfs an no issues you will be fine.

delivered today but with no reducer, just a joining sleeve.

now to buy some heat tape and a 2.5-2.25 reducer....or a full 2.5" system?

any ideas/recommendations on a full system, or somewhere i can get hold of a reducer?
