External temperature fault

Featured Replies

I picked up an 01 Elegance 4x4 workhorse today and on the drive home I noticed the external temperature in the instrument panel fell to -12 degrees celcius, and switched to farenheit too, while the temperature in the climate control remained correct,

Are there 2 different sensors feeding info to both areas? If so, where is the 1 located for the temperature in the cluster? Would these symptoms be common?

The lower grill? Aye, cheers. Just curious if there are 2 seperate ones as its strange that the 2 readings are different.

Thought they were same altho i might be wrong

I think there is only the one external temp sensor.

I know just one sensor behind the fron grille

The other temp sensor is part of the aircon system, iirc it's in the heater box where the fresh air/Evaporator flaps meet each other.

the sensor behind the grille only does the external temperature.
