Fabia facelift

Featured Replies

i'm wondering what changes have skoda made to the fabia vrs in the latest facelift, i know that the rear lights were changed, and speedo design is there anything else?

is there a new fabia being released alongside the new polo, mm wonder what the vrs will be like, but thats a few years away i guess

Cheers

New platform Fabia is due up in 2007 iirc.

Speedo changes? What was that then?

I'm aware of:

  • Rear light cluster design.
  • No rear door locking pins.
  • New dash material. It gets more textured for the back half near the windscreen.
  • The angle of the vanes in the grille.

Think thats it.

i think the speedo face has changes from early to facelift models

Never noticed any changes in the speedo myself between 04 and 05 MY.

Due for UK release early 2008- vRS still not known. :(

I also didn't think the speedo had changed - at least not at the time of the facelift - my colleague's August 2004 car didn't look any different to my September 2004 facelift version. That comment also applies to the dashboard texture too. Bear in mind some changes certinaly occurred during the life of the Mark 1 - e.g. rear badge design and gearbox - and these might belong in that category.

Other things not mentioned above:

Door mirror controller becomes sensible without combined action on the left hand side

(sorry, can't think of any more...)

Lol.. heres a few of the less ovbious things ive noticed :o

the traction control light is the "new style" - the triangle with the car sliding in it rather than the spinning wheel.

*some* cars have a different insert where the dash meets the windscreen, but only seen one RS like this.. there doesnt seem to be any coherant continuity with it.

Different wingmirror control

middle 3 point rear seatbelt

3rd rear head restraint.

rear lights

IIRC, theres possibly some slight mods to the new front bumpers (noticed this in a brochure, but havent seen one in the metal yet)

The Fabia speedo changed, but the vRS speedo was untouched.

3rd rear headrest is an option I think; my 05 vRS doesn't have one.

I think the speedo is a bit of a joke, where it goes up in 10's then 20's towards the end. God knows how accurate it is though ?!?!

Mine neither.

When doing***mph....I dearn't look at the speedo anyway. I do have my eyes open though!

standard cars can easily do 145 ag. just hit 4000 rpm in every gear then hold it flat in 6th for about 40-60 seconds ;)

Ummm mine can only do 130 :(

Whats different about the front grille (the one with the vRS badge on it?).

The most distinctive feature is the rear lights, however I did drive a 1.2 HTP and that had the new dashboard, it was the same as mine to where the dashboard has a line across (about half way up the dashboard) then from there to the front window were grip pads dotted everywhere, apologies for the sh@t explaination. Hopefully the image below should show which line I mean (notice where the dashboard appears to have a line near the top, well all above that is grippy type pad thingies :D)

It is annoying to me that it goes up with 20 mph suddenly though, nothing new but it still sukz imho

I wasn't aware about the middle 3 point belt. Presumably it that WAS a change so is the warning system that the rear seat's folded...

The third head restraint is definitely a

The six speed box ratios were changed at some stage as well.

I have an origin B2 in my furby, and I can tell you for sure the accuracy is exacty reading 10% fast on the speedo at all times ! (and I agree the increments at the top end are weird..)

My RA2 suggests my car's speedo is over reading by about 7% - reads 64mph at true 60, 75mph at true 70 for instance

By the way, one thing that was NOT changed when the facelift was launched - was the price! It stayed at
