Spacers and 312 brake clearence

Featured Replies

A quick and possible daft question.

Will ANY 16" alloys fit over the 312 brake set up if 15mm spacers are used ?

Im on the look out for some new alloys but just want to make sure I dont trip up buying something that wont clear the brakes.

Thank you :)

If you buy 16 wheels with the same et as the fabia or lower you will be fine with out spacers, unless you want spacers aswell and again there will be no issues.

Thanks Joe.

Already got the spacers fitted to standard alloys to fill the gaps so all seems good :)

What size spacers are you using mate? I'm running 15mms on the front with mudguards but holy **** you should see the tar spots on the side of my car!

ive used 3 types of 16" wheels with no spacers:

- Ibiza FR prefacelift

- SEAT Sport

- SEAT Leon Cupra 16" multispokes

all 3 of those will fit over the 312mm setup (as long as you havent got the AP racing brakes or equivalent) fitted to the car

My old Vrs ran std rims with 312's

VW Le Castallet alloys clear 312's with no spacers.

TDPR 1.2's clear 312's with no spacers.

Thanks folks, I just wanted to make sure that I could purchase ANY 16" alloy and it would fit lol.

Currently running 20mm back and 15mm fronts. and to my eyes looks nice from the back :)

With 20mm it JUST about level with the arch with octy spiders, the 15mm spacers still make the alloys look a little "lost" but much improved.

Do you have any issues with stone chips or tar spots? Don't suppose you'll really notice it as much on a black car though.
