Front passenger seat belt warning

Featured Replies

I thought that the octavia had this but ours doesn't seem to.

The drivers one works ok.

Is this right?

I ask because our yeti does and I would have thought that the Octy would too

I know mine doesn't as I drove along a farm drive and the bonging started as soon as I went over 20kph, put my seatbelt on and it stopped, my passenger thought it was odd when he was sitting in there without his belt on.

This is down to the budget of the accountants at Skoda

I have noticed a few others in my 1st month of ownership, I'm happy with the Octavia but I did also notice

A basic Mk6 Golf gets

Knee Airbag for the Driver

Curtain Airbags

Brake Pad Wear Sensor

Front Passenger Seatbelt Warning

I have a brake pad wear sensor. (2008) Has this been removed in newer models?

It is not coded on my FL Vrs

Coded it in and the warning comes up that they need to be checked

Interesting. In any case, when I bought mine in 2009 there was three grand between the "one up from base" Golf and mine so it probably isn't all that fair to compare equipment levels that closely?

I wasn't comparing cars due to price, performance and spec etc.

Only that the skoda doesn't have these items. I'm happy with my skoda and the above were just what I have noticed.

I'd be very suprised if the latest Octavia doesn't get the brake pad wear sensor, especially if it is simply a case of coding it.

Wow, just checked the facelift manual.

Indeed there is no warning for worn brake pads.

The light indicates low brake fluid.

There is another light for the handbrake and a third for the ABS.

That's pretty poor in my opinion.

It is however present in the pre-facelift manual.

I'm all for cost cutting with a budget brand (no damped grab handles, no pneumatic arm to lift the bonnet etc.) but running a wire through the pads and coding the CANBUS is hardly a huge expense, it might even be a cost saving if the feature is present in all other VAG models.

Don't forget the OP that the passenger seat doesn't get seat occupied sensor and wiring too

I don't think the savings are that much, but over 1000s of cars it must add up

I did have an idea that the passenger airbag might have been turned off which might have had a bearing on the seatbelt warning.

Checked and the airbag was on.

Had a look under the seat and indeed there is no wire.

Thanx all for your input.
