Fabia vRS 2006 interest / feeler

Featured Replies

Just putting out a feeler for any interest as I could potentially find myself interested in a newer / nearly new car and if that happens I could probably really do with sticking to one car.

I am the 1 and only owner of my Fabia vRS in yellow

Its not a 5 owner special with some mystery surprises waiting - 100% genuine 1 owner car, not a basket case

Genuinely not selling it due to faults, only fancy a newer car / change

Always oil change / service as required by a mechanically sympathetic owner. Owners manual now bursting with receipts as I always keep everything

Still on original clutch and turbo and not long until celebrating the 100K ! Driven daily without fail too. (Up until fairly recently the journeys have been pretty much perfect - disregarding the mileage itself the actual miles have been "good" miles, done in proper motorway conditions at speed not driving in urban like a shopping cart. I'd much rather have that than 30k done in slow stop/start conditions)

NEVER been remapped/clocked etc, always driven on standard ECU and it drives strong enough alone on this.

NEVER had any major mechanical failures with this car, been a very reliable BMW killer.....

Done minor bits and pieces though, the egr gasket mod, elephant mod more recently in the last 10K ( and cleaned out the EGR / manifold ).

Already had the cambelt done at the required interval by Unit 18, I think it must be due again in around 20K or so.

Brakes good, Pagid brakes replaced all round which was less than 20K ago

Recently change the header bottle with an OEM one due to the niggling light issue, then fully flushed the coolant until totally clear and fitted the red long life coolant.

VW Cruise stalk, Sony H/U with mp3 3.5mm jack and sony joystick

Taxed til beginning of Nov2013, and recent MOT'd so about 11mths

Battery this year, the 067TE Exide Car Battery X-Tra Plus (£80 high cranking not the cheap ****e)

Unit 18 only recently did the upgraded X bushes

MPG is good, can get 60 on trip with average driving

Cloth interior is good, not getting tatty like affects some but does get dirty easily and needs another minor wipe at the moment

Aircon working etc

Currently looking sweet on Octy Spiders but would probably sell the car on the standard, still newish tyres too I think and the Octys getting sold on or separate deal

Note there is some minor cosmetic bodywork on the cill, it is repaired but a bit proud and needs polishing in which I was planning to finish next year in better weather - this was due to a minor run in with a electronic gate

Slight increase in turbo noise but still drives very strong, so hard to tell how long to keep it as is.

Slight rattle from DMF at idle, drives fine though.

(was planning next year to upgrade to PD150 turbo, remap, Eibach lowering etc).

Stonechips on bonnet as typical for model and age etc

Wondering on the interest as I am going to have a look at a Octy 1.8TSi as I'm now pushing 40, and the sensible bug has got me, more space etc, plus due to job change the MPG isn't so

Any sensible realistic offer ? or guidance on possible price

Nothing too silly as I could quite easily keep this car as a mod toy/weekend fun.

In fact I think I must be mad to want to sell it anyway, never had such a great car and for a car that has done me so well I almost feel guilty not to keep her :( If I get a good offer though then I would certainly consider it

I don't have a drive though so having so many cars and parking on street isn't a great idea though we have a fairly quiet street almost a cul-de-sac

I think I have got the gist from the lack of response that I would be "mad not to keep it", so I think I will and go for the few jobs needed next year to make it like new again

Sorry for any might have been interested

Think its more to do with time of year matey.

Don't I know it :(

Yeh putting a car on for sale day before Xmas eve, then less than 24 hours later commenting on the lack of reponse, therefore removing it for sale, means that you dont really want to sell it. I am sure you have convinced yourself to keep it. Cant blame you.
