Fabia 101hp TDi PD (ATD) poor MPG

Featured Replies

Hi guys

I have such a car with 165.000km on the clock. My ex wife has a similar car with same engine and same remap (I am a chiptuner). I had the timing belt changed and economy is bad. I tested the car side by side with my ex wifes car and it showed 17km/l, and not 21 like in her car... Same speed. I have measured timing with Vagcom and it shows minus 0.6 to minus 1.1. Should be OK I think?

MAF is good, EGR is off in the software. Engine has been cleaned with varoius fluids and injectors seems fine in channel 13.

Any ideas?

What do you see in channel 04 when you measure timing?

Thanks.

Are you sure the timing is right? I've heard of horror MPG after a belt change and it was a tooth or so out...

I have measured with Vagcom. If it is one tooth wrong, it would show in Vagcom, right?

Hi Thomas, hope all is well. Sorry never did try that file you sent, completely forgot.

I'm interested in your outcome and if it is in fact timing related and if VCDS shows this. As we all know the injectors are ran off the cam so if its out it would effect a lot of things.

VCDS cannot do a timing check on a PD engine like it can on the older 2.5 V6 TDI engines. I guess its because of the cam driven thing. Not sure. Could it be down to something else like a dodgy batch of fuel? under-inflated tyre or something?
