cant upload pictures they are to big

Upload the pics to photobucket then link from there.

Are you sure it's the turbo, and not the EGR that's leaking?

swoggles,

i had a weeping egr valve which i found oil in my pipework right down to the intercooler and loads of thick oily carbon in my egr, i have given it a good clean and to date now have very little if not any oil weeping from the egr valve as for the turbo cant say as i havent looked around that area (think i should now). is the turbo making a whining sound or sounds different. hope this helps, have a check of your egr valve use a torch and check inside.

Between that pipe and the turbo is a tiny gasket by the looks off the oil id say the gasket has gone failing that try cleanin it all off and running the car to see if you can see it leaking from there

That's the oil feed pipe isn't it? Could be worth replacing.

i guess the best bet now is to remove pipes and see how the shaft is?? if the shaft is happy then im all clear rite? jus gta replace the oil feed pipe and gasket

hybrid turbo for under 600?? dodgey? recons worth trusting?

The the oil return pipe, and as said has a gasket in there so might just be that that needs replacing (and a good degrease!)

While you are there pull off the inlet pipe (metal one from air box with rubber connection to turbo) and have a look inside and see how much play there is. To be honest, it just looks like fresh oil, which points to the gasket on the oil return if its running ok.

Oh, and be VERY wary of cheap turbo's. Its the core part to our car and if it lets go, then it can take out the intercooler and more depending on how far the metal fragments get.

Another thing while you are there is to check is the oil feed, which is on the other side of the CHRA (the top facing upwards) to see if thats ok and not leaking and dripping round to the bottom where the picture is looking at.

best just clean everything then take another look after a short run or run it on ramps if you have them then decide simplest things first cheeper that way

ramps are tricky to get access to,i will jus have to climb under the car again!! but gaining access to tje turbo from the top side sounds so much better!! i will have to get on it asap, hoping oil pipe is the solution as a turbo is a lot.of money i dont have!
