Stupidly tried to lower frozen window !

Featured Replies

Totally my own fault but I engaged finger before brain the other day and tried to lower my drivers window while it was frozen.

End result lots of funny noises from behind the door card and no movement in the window.

I've found the threads on how to remove the door card but what I'm trying to figure out is what awaits me when I get to the internals?

Am I likely to need new/secondhand parts or is it a repair job?

Any help appreciated.

Did the same trick the other day, the plastic clip that links the drive wires from the electric moter to the bottom of the glass holder brake. I purchased a seconh hand assemble less the moter for £30.00 inc vat, but have since found on ebay a kit containing the required parts for £10 to £15. an easy job to fix either way when you have the door card off and carfully pealed back the waterproof membrain.

Hope that helps and good luck.

Dave.
