  • Billy you must be getting old buddy.. not the normal cheerful banter from you these days.. Lofty knows the quality parts are better mate... The fact that Lloyds car has failed is a issue as the car

  • The moment you lose your sense of humour, things have gotten really bad! I like my car to be the best it can be - but I can't afford to do that, my business is failing, my son has adhd, massive ocd, a

  • it happens buddy, but no way that shouldve been missed. if it is tie rods aswell thats not alot of work really, and they are cheap.

2006 bud :(

Unamused !

well 6 years is a while, and they do get punishment when they are out in use. Shame mate, they say it comes in 3's so that should be it now

Just gotta hope its that which has caused all this latest noise

Dave said my pcd adaptors would maybe cause it ?

Thinking about it, could it have been a spring all along.

Mate i have sooo been thinking that :(

I think my car really is evil :(

Tbh that's not the car, you added the coilies and they aint oe soooooo. If it was that all along (very likely) I would go back to those garages and highlight how crap they are at they're job! If it is that, that is shocking mechanic work.

big deal... :giggle:

Na mate oe ones are tasty money

I just gotta get him upto date

Looks lije he is staying a while.... I wana try swap my 5x112 ch's to 5x100s now

Will be 8.5j too that way

that will 100% be the noise ;-) so its a good find as it wont cost much to fix i have 2 used springs from a vrs we can stick on it or go for some coilovers

When you put new springs on make sure they put the threaded bush on it. Withput that it causes excess wear on things. Als an idea to replace the bearings and top mounts on both at same time.

I did say if it wasnt rack it would be the top mounts so i wasnt far off.

Gutted tho mate. Whould of been seen tho

He's on KW V1's Clive...

Oh well, good excuse for V2 or V3...

Was the suspension regularly greased up and moved? Still shouldn't really affect the coil. I was wondering, assuming its rust that's done it, it could be standing around for long periods that has allowed corrosion to start eating into the metal?

Cheers guys hehe v3s would be nice lol

Billy whats a threaded bush ?

Could it be my wheels that caused it ?

Greased n moved ? As in turnt the spring etc ?

Not the spring necessarily, but adjusting the rings for ride height too.

There is a silicone grease spray that I try and use on my KWs as much as possible.

ring kw tomoz and have a chat with them they will help you very good company

Any links mate or just any silicone spray grease ?

Cheers clive..... They reken they can get 1 to him friday ?

Id like to take this chance to do powerflex top mounts but its cost ..... Unless this is the noise then its ok ..... Ish :(

Billy whats a threaded bush ?

A bush that needs screwing

Billy means the inner nut that holds the rubber top mount and bearing to the top of the suspension. This is sometimes forgotten and some folks just fit the external nut that is fitted from the engine bay top to the suspension strut. This can then put more stress on the bearing.

+1.

I also use silicone spray now to keep the KW strut's and spring mounts lubed up and free from seizure. I also spray WD40 over the springs

I had a weitec spring snap on me and KW replaced 1 for free outside of the 2 years warranty , but I paid for the other side spring to get replaced as did not want odd ones
