Servicing Price Who is Right...

Featured Replies

I picked up my wonderful Furby vRS in December last year. I even ended up witht he 2005 model :D

In another month the car will be around 6 months old and done 10,000 miles. I rang the dealer I bought it from Silbury Skoda and they quoted me

I think the second (low) one is correct.. the 10K is more or less just a oil and filter change + quick inspection

It'll be just the lubrication service and not the full inspection , so nice and cheap

Agreed, my 10000 mile service cost

its gutting that changing the oil and fuel filter costs around

This is ok , but do you have variable serviceing?

Has a warning light come on to tell you , your car should be able to have it.

You will find that most dealers will put you on FIXED to get you back in to spend your money with them.

Be aware of which oil is used.

You need some good oil.

But yes the second is the about cost of this.

But if you just have the inspection , you will need to take it in after a year.

But could be 2 if on Variable.

Gets slightly tricky at times eh?

This keeps popping up, I'm not aware that the Furby supports variable, despite many dealers believing that it does.

The Vrs is fixed servicing.

I have two prices from local dealers -

Excellent quick response peeps. Mine will be fixed service as I think all Furbys are. I will go for the local cheaper price.

Thanks

There is a FAQ about the Fabia vRS and variable servicing here.

My car will touch 20k just after it's a year old, do I still need to get the years service done then the 20k service or just the 20k service?

Just the 20, I assume you had a 10k in the last year?

Yep correct, I got my 10k in March and it's got 14k on now, the car is 1 year old in September.

Every 20k service includes an inspection. If you are doing 20k miles in a year, then you do not need the inspection carried out at the 10k service (just ask for a lube service), otherwise you do :D

HTH :D

Don't you guys have that deal going on there where it's free servicing for 3 years/60,000kms, which ever comes first???That's what we have here, we din't pay for service. I just crossed 60 so that's over for me now.

We wish! You have to pay more for everything over here

Do you get a 3 year/60000 mile warranty plus free European (or Gulf equivalent) breakdown cover for the same period?

This is getting silly. I decided to call Silbury Skoda back as they are close to where I work and discuss their price of

*Anxious point* Despite the cheaper dealer saying they lost their sales franchise but maintained their service franchise should I be worried?
If they are 'Skoda approved' for servicing then you will be OK. They might not have been willing to invest in new shiny premises and hence can't sell new cars.
