Stopped by the local dealership today...

...and i found these little cuties. There are a ****load of them ready for delivery, lined up in the back. They wanted 16000 quid for a nice Rapid Elegance with 1.4TSI/DSG plus a few extras, which is pretty darn good... And apparently they're even expecting some Diesel/DSG's in a few months...

Pardon the quality, iphone 4g...

Skoda UK won't let us have a Rapid Elegance with DSG yet...

I know I shouldn't, but every time I see a picture of a Rapid my mind says,

Dacia Logan.

I know the Up! was originally intended to be rear engined and that VW now own them......but a Porsche Citigo?

They really leave me cold but I havent seen inside one tbh. The external proportions look unbalanced to me. Thats possibly the only current Skoda I wouldnt even consider buying. :(

HERETIC! BURN, THE HERETIC MUST BURN!

Seriously though, comparing such a fantastic car as the Rapid with the POS that is the Logan.... Ugh...

Yeah, i heard you're not really getting any Rapid models. Something about delivery issues. Probably because of RHD...

I could've bought one today if i skipped the leather steering wheel... The bloke that spoke to the other salesman drove away with an ambiente (sp?) 1.2TSI.

The dealership is called "Porsche M5", located near the M5 motorway in Budapest. Which is why the flags, signs, whatever say Porsche. Its actually one bigass building with Audi, VW, Skoda etc.

Sainsburys will be punting the Rapid out soon on the middle aisle of their bigger stores. "Buy One Get One Free."

Even then, I doubt if I would.

C'mon Dakks, it's a choice between a pair of fugly twin sisters, one being a goer, and one being as dumb as a walking stick with a castor on the bottom, they are still both fugly.

That is the name of the Dealer

Local dealer to OP is in Hungary

The white one looks like a Police 'panda' car...

Grey one looks good, if a little under-wheeled.

I saw one at Goodwood first and I wasn't too sure on it and I'm still not. I suppose taxi drivers could use them but if rear legroom is crap they won't bother

II suppose taxi drivers could use them but if rear legroom is crap they won't bother

It's not. It's significantly better than the Octy 1 in that respect, which was a popular taxi.

Saw one in my local dealers. Thought it was a Octy with a new front. Sales man agreed, but you can't rely on them to tell the truth!
