VRS had just been hit :-( .... price of front bumper?

Featured Replies

Hi all, just come back from going into the local shops..

And noticed a man looking at the front of the car (Was dark)...thought it was strange...told the wife and kids to keep walking slowly at a distance from across the road..Then noticed something on the floor...the fog light surround..

So promply marched over...Then noticed the front bumper has popped off the front mounts around the headlight.and loads of all the scratches all along the front

:-(

Gutted...

Anyway long story short...traced the woman who was about to leave a note on the car (?)..and a couple of whitnesses..

Now problem is..the fog light bracket has broke, and im quessing its the skin underneath has broke?

Car is mint so looking for it to be mint when the insurance has been sorted..at least front bumber resprayed, fog light surround, fog light, and fog light brackets?/Skin...not sure how its all held in..But if its like my LCR the front fogs are held in by the front bumper...

Dose anyone know a price of a MK1 VRS front bumper?..tryed googling it and cant find it anywere..

Kinda hoping its not mega expensive as dont want a write off!!

Thanks

Sorry to hear about the bump, you must be gutted :(

The Crash Repair Parts website seems to have the required bits and pieces listed, including bumper, grilles and lamp holder. It doesn't specifically mention the vRS on the bumpers though - so might be worth checking with them to be sure.

Crash repair parts ain't genuine, make sure if insurance repair it, you demand genuine parts!

Im sure a front bumper is somewhere around £200, don't hold me too that, fogs around £60, and grills £50

Swedey sorry to hear this, hope you get it sorted and back to being a minter again.

At least the lady was going to leave a note, you hear about people just driving off these days, not caring tw£ts.

Fogs are fixed to bumper mate.

Screws go down into the top of the fogs.

If they look like they can be fixed from the front via

the grille aperture then they are the wrong type.

Insist on genuine, the pattern ones aren't great IME.

I know for sure,if i see it happen i would take down the reg plate of the offender...my pet hates people hitting/damaging other peoples cars, carparks dings etc..

You'd be surprised what is repairable, if the bumper isn't cracked completely then it's repairable, in an insurers viewpoint, a new bumper is cheaper than 3 hours labour to repair though.
