Cheers Spence!

I used to hog loads of car brochures for cars i might buy in the future.

But since moved house have thrown thm away :-(

Thy might like gold dust whn it comes to buying used for car info!

Thks again!

PS: How do u spot or know if a Skoda has the self-park option installed?

Be careful...its not exactly a `self park` system. Its `Park Assist`..it assists you. You still have to be very aware of what's going on around you and keep your foot over the brake pedal!!!

Cheers mandp!

Interesting u say PARK ASSIST.

Whn the spec says REAR PARK DISTANCE SENSOR = rear sensors

Whn PARK ASSIST = can i assume it is the self-park one?

Is there a name for just front/rear sensors?

The Superb is available with 3 types of sensors:

Rear only (4 sensors)

Front & Rear (8 sensors)

Park Assist (10 sensors)

As Bill correctly said if the car has Part Assist it will have a sensor in the front wheel arch part of the bumper. It also has the activation button next to the gear stick (drivers side middle)

Front and rear sensors have the activation button just above the Park Assist button (drivers side front)

You can see the buttons at 1:23 below.

Ok.

U have convinced me.

I have a Subaru Legacy estate 4x4 242bhp 3000cc running on LPG.

I tried to sell last Feb, but it did not meet my minimum.

I was going to sell in Dec, hoping the imminent snow will sell the Scoob.

But i decided to use it in Dec and wait til Jan.

Now snow is forecast nx 3 weeks it is ideal to sell!

But if i buy a Superb upto £12k i think i probably get the same amount for PX

and less hassle / wait for buyers / ebay fees etc.

I will buy.

Not the car i seen - since too many anomalies.

And not the 140bhp - since 170 offer similar mpg.

Not 1.8 TSI since mpg drops dramatically.

I will keep looking on www.skoda.co.uk

I am prepared to be ripped off...er pay more for a piece of mind and warranty.

I would like the ELEGANCE model.

With sat nav.

Prefer it had front park sensor too (rare?).

I am still worry abt the:

Injectors

Recalls on VOSA

DPF

Satnav breaks after 3years.

When is best time to buy a car?

End week?

End month?

Is there a Skoda dealership tht is consistently lower in asking price?

Just in case their cars dont appear on the main Skoda site (or too slow to appear)?

Glup!!!

My Scoob MOT runs out in Feb - so i ned a Superb pretty quite!

Which car /trim/ toys have u got, Bill ?

standard elegance with dsg plus heated front screen and heated rear seats/and electric tailgate.

mileage now at 21.000 2nd service next week,on 2nd set of tyres have had satnav replaced at 19.000 and 2 alloy wheels plus new badges fitted by dealer with out me asking them

bill

My Superb CR170 Elegance has now done 67000 miles (2.5 years). GPS unit failed after 20 000 miles. Electric passenger seat has a mind of it's own, wife always saying "who have you had in this seat?". Drivers seat looks pretty worn and no my rear end is not that large. The car does mostly motorway driving and I find the seats reasonably comfortable, not as comfortable as my old Volvo S80 but quite adequate, more sporty than comfort. One fused replaced. 2 Sets of Tyres. Pressure warning once came on despite pressures being fine. Fuel consumption averages out at around 45mpg, best is 50mpg. Skoda badges both very shabby now. No Rust. Sound system is decidely average. Servicing costs have been reasonable but watch out dealer quality varies substantially, the skoda dealer in Northampton being the best so far.

So u still love your car?

Would u buy another?

I believe the satnav not covered in extended warranty?

So wot are the options whn it broked?

From recent searches you can buy one on Flea bay for between £400 and £600 with newest maps and POI speed cameras, Just put in a search for RNS 510 and it's a massive saving from buying new from Skoda...

Some of these are well dodgy, though! Look for perfect feedback, a year's warranty and ask them a direct question: will this or will this not be upgradable through future firmware updates?
