Allez faire un, Andre!!

:giggle: :giggle: :giggle:

Touche! (With an acute accent on the 'e', of course: can't do them on here!).

Yés you can...

Go on then, tell us how  , please! BTW, someone here (Johann?) tried to tell us how to get the 'horns' on the S of Skoda. It didn't work for me. Too Anglo-Saxon, I suppose.

In "Windows" hold down the right hand ALT key and press the E key or left hand ALT key whilst pressing 0201 (or 0233 for lower case). The horned capital Š is lh ALT+0138. HTH and do have fun checking hundreds of others!!

[This is strictly off-topic, of course]

Wow - é works (obviously). Skoda is koda, though

There was a thread on this last year ...

It didn't work for me then - and it still doesn't. However, with NumLock on, by using Alt+138 on the right-hand number pad I get è and Alt+160 = á -- no use to man nor beast, as they say! Not a caron in sight.

Use ascii codes?

There's a little more info on Wikipedia - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unicode_input - but it's no good for my Windows 8 laptop that doesn't have a numeric keypad (or mode to simulate one). Windows 8 still has the character map in Accessories so I presume it's there in 7/Vista as well, and that has the whole lot of them to cut'n'paste. Any use?

Šilly me to forget the Character Map! ThankŠ for the prompt, Martin

Škoda.......
