2013 Octavia vRS Diesel DPF

Featured Replies

Hi all, I've just brought myself a Octavia vRS 2011 CR model (19K miles) and was slightly concerned with some of the stories on DPF issues on modern diesels in general...

I do about 33 miles a day, motorway mileage. The skoda sales man (useless as they are), said that if the DPF light comes on (when I started probing him) said.. just stick it in 4th gear, do about 60 miles an hour in that gear (getting the Revs to about 3.5 - 4.0 RPM) and for about 15 miles... and that will clear the system and light, forcing a re-generation... Humm.... is that a workaround solution to the light coming on....

I was told that the new CR engines are better at regeneration.... comments on how to prolong the life of your DPF filter is much appreciated.

Thanks all...

Hi Azzbo and welcome to Briskoda.

At 33 miles per day motorway mileage, I doubt you will experience DPF issues.
