Looking at an Ibiza Sport 130PD any advice?

Featured Replies

Off to look at an Ibiza Sport 130PD tonight and wonder if there's anything in particular to look out for? As always any advice would be appreciated! :)

well at the end of the day it's a Fabia vRS and Ibiza Fr so engine wise, nothing as long as they have been looked after. Bodywork wise, SEATs have a reputation for patchy build quality so look at that. It was never the best specced car in the world either. Apart from that the usual stuff, service history, etc.

My only word of warning after owning a Seat Leon Petrol. (I now own a Furby vRS) is the Seat customer care. One word Appalling :thumbdwn:

The car had a number of faults that many Seat owners complain about- poor build on trim fittings. I had the aircon leak and fail, door trims come off and lots of silly little things going wrong.

But the thing that would stop me going back to Seat is their customer service / care :pants:

Spec seems good. 16" wheels, sports suspension, TC, Climate, CD, Elec windows, remote.. all as standard. When it was released it was top of the range until FR and Cupra were launched.

I've very little experience of the PD engine so any giveaway signs of problems?

I'd probably be buying a car out of warranty and having all servicing done by JBS.

Not that I know of apart from the odd MAF sensor, mine has been good as gold since I've had it.

Wouldn't touch Seats, would rather have a Fiat Diablo :D

Fiat have started making Diablos?

Same mechanically as the Fabia. Ibiza's fair a bit better as they were built after the Fabia so most of the faults on the early Fabia's were sorted by then. Good motors.

Anyone driven the Ibiza Cupra TDI? That's almost 330d quick!
